To assist you in keeping you safe while surfing I recommend using Mozilla's Firefox browser over Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Firefox is FREE, customizable. It offers you the user, greater protection against malicious code execution, pop-up's and advertising blocking and cookie-retention or deletion.
For Firefox security I recommend the following add-on's to keep you safe and secure: NoScript AdBlock BlockSite clicking these will take you to their respective download and information pages.

a FREE wonderful E-Mail client called
Thunderbird.
Thunderbird
is similar to Microsoft Office's Outlook e-mail but with better spam - junk mail
blocking.
If you use Google as your e-mail host, you can configure your Thunderbird, Outlook or Outlook Express as your e-mail client to compose, send and receive. For instruction on setting up e-mail client with Google visit here. Google's spam and junk e-mail filtering is very impressive, you really do not need to set-up any junk filters like you would with Yahoo.
